Roasted garlic makes a delicious appetizer or accompaniment to a meal. Serve it spread onto crusty French bread or mash it and add it to salad dressings. Store it in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 whole garlic head 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 375°F.
  2. Select heads of garlic with large cloves. Place entire head into a small baking dish and bake until cloves feel soft when pressed, about 35 minutes.

Microwave variation:

  1. Place 1 large head of garlic in microwave.
  2. Cook on high for 2 minutes, 10 seconds.
  3. Test for doneness with a fork.
